Everything is Bigger in Texas: Implementation of the Country?s Largest High Recovery Inland Brackish Groundwater Desalination Facility

This presentation provides insight on the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) project including facility planning and programming considerations, as well as a review of the proposed treatment process design. It includes information on the source water quality and proposed pretreatment and the unique approach proposed for the 3-stage RO treatment process. Design features of the proposed post treatment stabilization and remineralization process which uses calcite (limestone) contactors is also presented.
