Advanced reverse osmosis solutions are presented for mining-impacted wastewater treatment, with a case study on zinc mine-affected water. The paper examines desalting options and the limitations of conventional hydroxide precipitation and lime treatment for managing elevated sulfate concentrations and other contaminants characteristic of mine-impacted wastewater. MaxH2O Desalter technology is proposed as an optimized solution addressing both technical and economic constraints of traditional treatment approaches for high-recovery operation.
