Colorado Membrane Regulations

This presentation provides an overview of the regulations governing the use of membranes for drinking water treatment in Colorado. It will discuss regulatory expectations for pathogen removal credit, and monitoring and integrity testing requirements. In addition, the presentation will outline Colorado’s alternative technology review process for technologies that are not represented in the current Colorado Design Criteria for Potable Water Systems. The presentation will describe the evaluation criteria, approval pathways, and documentation required for alternative technologies, with examples illustrating how membrane systems may be reviewed under this process.
