General Atomics’ integrated supercritical water oxidation (iSCWO) technology is presented for destruction of organic compounds and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in industrial and government waste streams. Operating at supercritical water conditions, the system achieves complete mineralization of recalcitrant fluorinated compounds. The company has commercialized the technology since 2013 and has been extensively engaged in PFAS destruction applications since 2021, with deployments serving industrial and government waste treatment requirements.
