Process Engineer – Water Treatment Technology
THE OPPORTUNITY:

Process Engineer needed to work in the growing field of water treatment technology. Duties will include:
• Operating and analyzing complex PLC controlled pilot systems across North America .
• Writing pilot reports to summarize operation and data collected during program.
• Designing water and waste water treatment systems using Ultrafiltration, MBR and Reverse Osmosis technologies based on pilot data to provide us with a competitive advantage.
• Troubleshooting water and waste water treatment systems in conjunction with Field Service Department.
• Presenting technical summaries of pilot / production performance to state regulators, engineering firms, customers, and internal staff.
• Presenting technical papers at national conferences to enhance our image in the municipal water and waste water market.
• Assisting sales department in bid proposal preparation.
• Serving as a resource for the rest of the company for water related issues.
• Installing 8” and 10” hollow fiber cartridges, PURON pilot modules and equipment associated with the water pilot fleet.
• Assisting in installation of valves, fittings, components, etc. related to full-scale system startups.
• Working safely in field environment and participating in department safety meetings and safety programs.

Requirements

THE RIGHT STUFF: 
Applicants with one to three years of experience including educational experience will be considered. To be successful you will need strong interpersonal skills to work with internal resources and external customers. Experience with traditional biological treatment of water and wastewater is a plus. You must be comfortable working as an independent contributor within a team environment. Strong technical skills in basic engineering and math desired. Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT (Engineer in Training) certificates would be a plus. Experience with membranes or waste water treatment would be a plus. BS in Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering required, MS degree a plus. Candidate must be willing to travel to support water and wastewater programs across the country with variable travel between 30-75% travel. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Water and Wastewater Biological Process Technology Engineer

Position Summary

Experienced Process Development Engineer needed to work in the growing field of membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. If you have experience treating water and wastewater with biological processes we will train you on our membranes.

In this newly created role you will:

• Work with process engineering team to effectively execute pilot studies, design cost-effective systems and ensure process design results in successful commissioning and operation of MBR systems.
• Provide feedback to MBR leadership team to develop MBR modules & processes for North American market.
• Work with process engineers to develop and optimize MBR process designs.
• Assist in the growth of PURON MBR into the North American market, including running pilots, field testing and supporting sales.
• Provide technical support to the sales group to assist at each stage of the selling process.
• Provide Biological Process training to employees.
• Maintain & disseminate competitive information on competitors in North America .
• Provide support to OEMs for sale of MBR modules in North America .
• Plant startup/optimization / troubleshooting.

Requirements

The Right Stuff: 
2 years experience preferred in traditional markets of water and wastewater treatment using biological processes. Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal resources and external customers. You must be comfortable working as an independent contributor within a team environment. Strong technical skills in basic engineering and math desired. Candidates with a BS Degree in Engineering required. Candidate must be willing to travel to support programs across the country with up to 50% travel.

Gore is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its filtration business in Elkton , MD.   This individual will be responsible for supporting and growing the filtration business as it expands into new markets.

 

In this job you will: 

· Work on a team including operations, technical, and sales/marketing personnel.

·  Interact with both internal and external customers.

·  Provide technical support to Sales, Product Managers and Customers, including review and development of customer specifications, new product development, and application development.

·  Provide technical support to and build relationships with end users.

·  Manage beta site testing of products at end user and outside testing facilities.

·  Develop a body of "fitness for use" knowledge for the products that will determine their appropriateness to their end application.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering

Position: System Superintendent, Lake Granbury Surface Water and Treatment System ( SWATS )

Brazos River Authority

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to manage and supervise operations and maintenance of a water treatment facility. This is accomplished by  supervising personnel; writing correspondence and reports for operations; reviewing and analyzing regulatory reports; inspecting plants and maintaining inventory; and carrying out related duties in accordance with the Authority’s Strategic Plan.  Other duties include supervising required lab tests for regulatory compliance; preparing and overseeing annual budget; and interacting with other employees and the public. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents.  Ability to apply fundamental concepts of theories, work with advanced mathematical operations methods, and functions of real and complex variables.  Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech.     Work requires the ability to troubleshoot problems associated with flow meters, pressures, biofouling issues, valves, transmitters, alarms, CIP’s of UF and RO and other related problems associated with UF and RO membranes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:   Seven to ten years experience with Ultra Filtration/Reverse Osmosis (UF/RO) filter system preferred.  Conventional filtration system experience mandatory.  Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency.  Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources.  Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.

POSTING DATE:  July 1, 2008 - Open until filled.

WORK SCHEDULE:  This position will require rotating shift work.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:  Appropriate Texas Class C Driver’s License, Class C Water Certification or Higher

SALARY: $62,641 annually to $78,302 annually. This is an exempt position.
